Request Account & Data Deletion

At OpenCast, we respect your right to control your personal information. You can easily delete your account and all associated cloud data at any time either directly from within the app or by submitting a web deletion request below.

1. Delete Account Directly Inside the App (Instant)

If you have the OpenCast app installed on your Android device:

  1. Open the OpenCast app.
  2. Tap the Library icon in the navigation.
  3. Tap the Settings icon on the top-right corner.
  4. Tap Delete Account.
  5. Confirm the prompt. Your account, authentication credentials, and all synchronized cloud data will be immediately and permanently purged.

2. Request Account Deletion via Email (Web Request)

If you have uninstalled the app or cannot access your device, you can request that our support team manually delete your account and all associated data from our servers:

  • Email: Send an email to bytegif@gmail.com
  • Subject: OpenCast Account Deletion Request
  • Body: Please include the registered email address associated with your OpenCast account.

Upon receiving your request, We will verify and permanently delete your account and all associated records within 24 to 48 hours.

3. What Data is Deleted?

When your account deletion is processed, the following data is permanently wiped from our Google Cloud Firestore and Firebase servers:

  • Account Profile: Display name, email address, avatar selection, and authentication credentials.
  • User Library & Follows: All followed podcast shows and subscribed feeds.
  • Playlists & Likes: All custom created playlists and liked podcast episodes.
  • Listening History: Episode playback history and progress timestamps.
  • Custom Streams: Custom RSS feeds and custom radio URLs saved to your account.
  • User Interactions: Any comments or feedback posted on episodes.

4. Data Retention Policy

We do not retain any personal information after your account is deleted. All backups and server references are purged completely in accordance with Google Play Developer Policies and global privacy regulations.
